KSI is 400 Members Strong

It is time to pop champagne bottles to celebrate! We have achieved an enormous feat: KSI has recently hit the 400 active member mark once again! We, from members at an Executive Staff level down to our most recent recruit, have all played a part in this tremendous accomplishment and deserve to give ourselves a pat on the back. If you want to fully understand the importance of what reaching 400 members means for the community, you have to consider where we were only a few months ago.
KSI has a vast history with over 21+ years as an active gaming community. KSI has been home to some of the most impressive individuals in the gaming scene and, whether you love him or hate him, was the original home community for the prominent internet influencer of the same name. KSI has seen multiple consoles come and go from Xbox 360 days to opening up to different platforms such as the PS5 and PC. We have seen a variety of video game titles reign supreme for recruiting (Halo, CoD, Destiny, etc.). We have developed our member core with experiences that can transfer to their personal lives, which is priceless in the grand scheme of things. The community has shown that we are more than friends hanging out on Xbox; we have proven that KSI is a powerhouse in the gaming world. Historically, we have had thousands of members. We have seen a wide range in numbers. We have seen a thousand members at a time and a low where we had only a few hundred members; however, never as low as we did in June 2023. KSI was on the brink of what felt like extinction as we had around 30-40 members holding the threads together as we hoped for a miracle to come. Although it looked like our time as a community was ending to many outsider organizations and communities, we saw a massive resurgence in the time of dire need when a handful of what I would dub the “All-Star Leaders” came back to help everyone rebuild from the bottom up.
Experienced leaders from all eras of KSI, many of whom had never worked together previously, came together to help set up a framework with existing leadership to steer us back in a positive direction. Many outstanding KSI leaders, old, new, and even some ancient names, had to spend long hours in meetings in July and August to discuss and decide the direction of the community. This time spent is what started the foundation of us hitting this milestone. There was a lot of hardship that came from multiple generations of leaders butting heads as we have all seen KSI in different states; however, what mattered most is many of us grew up with KSI and didn’t want to see all of the time we spent years prior go to waste. We especially did not want to see the community crumble because we knew that KSI still has much to offer our members. We needed to find common ground to work to rebuild this outstanding community at any cost. What makes this a special milestone to hit, however, is it was not something done only by these returning leaders in private, hidden voice chats. The success came because the new generation of members recruited this year. The new members really stepped up by wanting to learn from past members who have been around for what feels like forever. This new generation didn’t want to sit on their hands idely by while old names tried fixing this alone. Each squad officer cores have quickly proven they are and will be a force not to be reckoned with.
The thing that we should take away from us hitting such an important milestone (400 active members) as we move into the future of KSI is that we are a community at the end of the day. Hall of Fame, 7s, divisional leadership, squad leadership, and members all alike are the ones who make this community great. No single individual did this alone. This accomplishment was, in truth, a group effort that will be the mark of the rebirth of this community for generations of members to come. Congratulations to everyone who played a major role in this as this was our victory together.
