KSI's Newest Partnership!
Article
KSI has recently partnered with an organization called Alpha Dogs. This partnership will have a huge impact, giving mental health support to our members. We wanted to reach out to AD Pun to learn more about the Org. So here is how the interview went!!
Hey Pun! I am going to ask you a few questions about yourself and the organization, if you don’t mind. AlphaDogPun responds with “Of Course” So the first question is, what is Alpha Dogs? “Alpha Dogs, as it stands today, found its beginnings this March, sparked by a deeply personal tragedy—the loss of a cherished friend to suicide. This event had a profound impact on me, marking a pivotal moment. In the aftermath of this loss, the urgent need to channel grief into a purposeful endeavor became clear. Our existing gaming server underwent a transformation, evolving into a sanctuary—a safe, nurturing space where men grappling with mental health challenges could seek solace and community within the gaming world. Alpha Dogs emerged as a platform with a mission to support fellow warriors in their mental health battles, striving to destigmatize men’s mental well-being while fostering a sense of togetherness through our shared passion for gaming. United by a shared vision, we aimed to extend a lifeline to those facing mental health challenges, driven by the memory of our lost friend (MacTheRippr) and the belief that no one should navigate these struggles alone. Alpha Dogs, born from tragedy and fortified by resilience, has continued to grow, offering support and growth opportunities for individuals on their path toward improved mental well-being.” We all suffer from loss and sometimes depression at some point, so it’s great that you have created a community to help individuals overcome that obstacle.
Okay so my next question is: So you mention that you started Alpha Dogs in March. How many men and women do you think have come to your communities seeking help and guidance to overcome mental health issues? “Since our inception in March, our server has witnessed substantial growth, expanding to around 600 and approaching 700 members presently. We continually welcome new individuals into our community, many of whom actively participate in our bi-weekly support groups, forums, or deep talk channels seeking assistance and guidance in their journey to overcome their individual mental health challenges.” Wow, that's absolutely amazing!
What is one thing you would like to say to someone who is scared about his/her mental health challenges? “I would say, your bravery in acknowledging your mental health challenges is the first step towards healing and growth. You’re not alone, reaching out for support is a sign of strength, not weakness. Disregard anyone who tells you otherwise. Our community stands ready to support you, and as a collective, we’ll guide you on the path to a happier you. Your voice matters, and your story is important.” Those are very inspiring words, and I hope anyone who is struggling to reach out, so they can get help.
So my last question for you. Is discord your only source to where people can come for help? If so, are there plans to expand to other platforms for people who don’t have discord? “Yes, currently, Discord serves as our primary platform where people can seek help and support within our community. However, we remain open to exploring new opportunities and platforms that may better accommodate those who do not use Discord. As we continue to grow, we're always looking for ways to extend our reach and provide assistance to as many individuals in the gaming scene as possible.”
