The Archives Team is Now Hiring
Join our team and help us build a lasting legacy. We are looking for detail-oriented and passionate individuals to fill new positions on our Archives team. If you are interested in history, have a passion for preservation, and are meticulous in your work, we want to hear from you.
The role
As an Archives team member, you will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on our organization and community by safeguarding important records and historical documents. You'll work with a variety of materials, including digital files, photographs, and historical documents, to ensure their proper organization, preservation, and accessibility.
Your responsibilities may include:
• Assessing, organizing, and cataloging archival collections.
• Developing and implementing policies for the preservation and access of materials.
• Assisting researchers and the public with inquiries.
• Digitizing archival documents.
• Maintaining accurate records and databases.
Who we're looking for
The ideal candidate has a strong interest in historical preservation and excellent organizational skills. We value accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team.
Qualifications and skills
• Interest in chronicling our extensive history.
• Familiarity with archival practices and descriptive standards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with computer software for archival management and scanning. (Wayback machine, xslm doc, html viewer)
• The ability to follow instructions carefully and manage detailed documentation.
