Hogwarts Legacy 2 In Development!
Are you a fan of the magical world? Do you enjoy searching for hidden treasures, ingredients for crafting, or even finding companions to help you along the way? Or perhaps even the thrill of magical battles to come out on top? So do we! In the magical world of Harry Potter, you get a combination of them all! Learning, fighting, exploration, and so much more! Hogwarts Legacy was released on February 10th, 2023, for the main consoles: Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, and later in November for Switch. Usually, it seems that the top selling games spot is taken by a Rockstar or Call of Duty release, however Hogwarts Legacy was so big it upstaged them.
In Hogwarts Legacy you play as a bright student joining in the 5th year, during a massive dispute between the teachers of Hogwarts, as well as the keepers of ancient magic, and a goblin named Rookwood and Ranrok, a dark wizard. Though Rookwood isn't the only enemy you face, he was definitely one of the biggest. While each decision you make will decide whether you survive or not, you are not alone. Many people will help you in your endeavors to defeat the enemies you face. If you haven't played the game, then definitely you should check it out. But what has us sitting on the edges of our seats is the announcement for the upcoming development and release of Hogwarts Legacy 2!
According to IMDb.com, there were many questions that were asked of the Warner Bros. Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels during an interview with Variety, not much was revealed, much to our chagrin. However, what seems to have been said by Gamerant.com was that its release seems to have been coordinated with the release of the new HBO Harry Potter series. The tie between the game and the series will apparently go hand in hand. So, things that happen in the series could happen in the game or vice versa. Knowing this, no official date has been set for the game but based on trends and patterns of other games/series releases, we can surmise that it will be shortly after the new Harry Potter series releases to capitalize on the hype for the show. It has been guessed that the game will be out in either 2027 or 2028, assuming there aren't any setbacks.
What can we expect to see from the sequel to a game that was such a success? Well, the RPG, while eagerly anticipated, has a lot to live up to, from travel to education and plenty of magic! Warner Bros representatives have stated that they will be streamlining the game in order to focus on making it one of their biggest games yet. Apparently, they have been in the works with the sequel since shortly after the first was released. With expectations high and pressure building, it's only a matter of time before we're able to get our hands on Hogwarts Legacy 2!
