When it comes to Sanctuary there has been a lot of history with these squads, which now they can also call Sanctuary because of their tremendous split to build the new squad Sanctuary. When I asked Jack to discuss what the road to splitting was like for him, he stated “At the start, I was a Senior Officer (SO) for a newly formed squad called Legion. I hadn’t anticipated stepping into a squad leader role so soon, but due to unforeseen personal circumstances, my squad leader had to step down. In response, I took on the role of acting squad leader in December and officially became the squad leader on December 23, 2024. Having held leadership positions in the past, I had a clear vision for Legion and knew what needed to be done to ensure its success. Despite a few challenges along the way, we remained committed to our goals, and through teamwork, dedication, and strong leadership, Legion became the largest and most successful squad within SR.” This is a great story as sometimes you're comfortable doing a specific role and then last minute you need to step up and help your squad and Jack did so kudos to Jack.
Next when I asked Jack how have things been for you since the split? He stated “So far, being a Co-Founder again has been an incredible experience. I've had the opportunity to support not just my two squads, Legion and Sanctuary, but the SR division and KSI as a whole. Whether it’s guiding leadership, refining squad operations, or helping members grow, I’m committed to ensuring our community thrives. It’s been rewarding to see the progress we’ve made, and I’m excited to continue pushing SR and KSI to new heights, strengthening our foundation and setting the standard for excellence.” This is a lot of commitment and dedication and shows how much Jack loves KSI and how much this squad means to him and that he would do whatever it takes and any means necessary to help a division and squads like he has been doing.
Next question I had for Jack were what challenges lie ahead of you in your new role? He stated “The biggest challenge with any promotion is understanding what is expected of you. This current build of KSI is vastly different from the versions of 2009 and 2017, bringing new responsibilities, expectations, and leadership dynamics. As a leader within the community, there are always new skills to learn, new systems to navigate, and new ways to guide and support your squad. Adapting to these changes is crucial for success, and embracing growth will ensure you remain an effective and respected leader in KSI.” Here at KSI they offer so many training and learning classes here that it’s like a mini campus and they take making sure everyone follows the rules and follow procedures here at KSI to make us stand out as one of the best clans out there.
Next question I had was what are you expecting to see out of the 2 squads? He stated “As I told my squad leaders, DadragingV2 and Brat, our mission is to continue setting the standard—not just for SR, but for the entire KSI community—when it comes to squad operations. Within KSI, we take pride in being a model of excellence, demonstrating strong leadership, teamwork, and efficiency in everything we do. Our commitment to growth and innovation will not only strengthen our squad but also inspire others across the community. By maintaining clear communication, refining our strategies, and upholding the core values of KSI, we will ensure that our squad remains at the forefront of success, driving the community forward as a whole.” This is key cause setting the standards within the squad and division is key and demonstrating leadership and teamwork and especially having efficiency is key to running a successful squad and division in the end. According to the states Legion has 50 members with a retention percentage of 92.59% and Sanctuary has 41 members with a retention percentage of 87.23% so they are definitely adding members and doing it the KSI way.
Next when I talked to KSI Brat one of the squad leaders I asked them to discuss what the road to splitting was like for them? They stated “It was really easy. My now Cofo made it super simple and easy for me he was always there every step of the way and still is. I’ve also made a bunch of other SL friends, and they’ve helped me with tips and tricks on running the squad and it has helped tremendously.” This is key to link up with other squad leaders and members so you can build your respect but also get guidance to understand and to know what to do and what is expected as squad leader.
Next question I had for KSI Brat was how have things been for you since the split? Brat responded by saying “Things have been really good, the squad is active I was able to save my fluff list and get my members back talking. There’s been a few bumps in the road but nothing crazy and I’ve got an amazing support system that helps.” Here at KSI it is key to try and save people from moving on and keeping them happy and getting them off the fluff list so by getting all members off the fluff list and not dropping them is the best way and not fluffing them helps your retention percentage as well as keeping everyone happy as an end result.
Another important question I asked Brat was what challenges lie ahead of you in your new role? She stated, “I always want people to be around even when they aren’t active a lot and end up on the fluff list I still want to try and save them that way nobody loses their roles due to inactivity.” Saving people from you fluff list is important and is key so you don’t decrease your stats and means that everyone is happy and wants to be in the squad so great job there and keep up the good work. The last question I had for Brat was what are you goals for the squad going forward? Her response was “To create this family feel like everyone has someone they can go to and talk and not be judged and make it people’s safe space to talk and game. Make it an escape from reality because we know life gets hard.” Making a squad and/or division safe is key then no one will be discouraged to speak how they feel or come to you with any questions or concerns and feel comfortable and safe doing so without any hesitation so that is important.
All in all, you can see how much a squad split means to people and how hard these squads work for this division and how doing things the KSI way and following procedures help make a squad split easy and successful.
