Xbox Live has released an Xbox live multiplayer beta, a teaser version of the multiplayer Halo 3 available in the upcoming spring only for Xbox 360. This also gives out hints to the players for the Campaign of Halo 3. This will only be available for a selected few (13 333 to be exact). To become one of these lucky gamers, here’s what you need to do:
1. Qualify for the Xbox Live through the “Rule of Three” program:
The “Rule of Three” program is planned for gamers of at least 17 years old in the United States and Canada with an Xbox Live Gold subscription in Halo 2. To qualify for this rule you must:
§ Play at least three hours in Halo 2 Xbox Live multiplayer on your Xbox 360 between February 1st at 12:01 am EST and February 3rd 11:59 EST.
§ Then, on February 5th http://www.halo3.com/ and register (make sure to mention that Natas/KSI SE7EN 7 sent you!).
If you qualify for this and are one of the 13,333 gamers, you will receive an invite notification to participate in the Halo 3 beta.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you do not get selected for Phase 1, this does not mean you will not be selected for Phase 2 so do not give up!
2. Purchase the marked packages of the upcoming game “Crackdown”, available for purchase in the U.S. on February 20th, 2007, February 22nd in Asia, and February 24th in Europe.
The specially marked packages of Crackdown include an invite to participate in the covered beta when it comes available. This means that when the Halo 3 multiplayer comes in the spring, the owners of Crackdown with access to an Xbox 360 console with a hard drive and valid Xbox Live Gold subscriptions need to run their copy of Crackdown and use it to download the beta off of Marketplace.
NOTE: This Halo 3 beta will be available in English Only.
