Catalyst split recently into Xenon!  Through this split, we saw another Co-Founder promotion with KSI Chicago 7, former Squad Leader of Catalyst, and former Division Leader of Endless Onslaught!  We also got two new Squad Leaders:  KSI Spot 7, Catalyst Squad Leader, and KSI Auxrys, Squad Leader of Xenon.  We got with them and asked some questions about the road to split, life after split, and any challenges they thought they might face in the weeks ahead.

Discuss what the road to splitting was like for you.
The road to splitting was definitely a lot more tough than people may see. The numbers were there, but there was plenty of fluff and not alot of officers. It took a lot of hard work and focus on building up the leadership core and working alongside Spot & Auxrys

How have things been for you since the split?
Things have been good! Catalyst struggled early but has gotten back on track and Xenon has been doing amazing!

Challenges that might lie ahead of you in your new role?
The biggest challenge will just be making sure I am available to provide the support both squads will need.

What are you expecting to see out of the 2 squads?
I fully expect to see both squads thrive and succeed. They are doing big things and they are taking this division by storm.

What was the road to splitting like for you?
The road to splitting was a rocky start bringing back a squad that had a lot of fluff to glory with activity, but lucky enough we started with a few essential officers that held their ground before we were able to build the core completely. Once we all came together for the common goal it was just a matter of time before we hit our strides.

How have things been since the split?
Since the split, I am not going to lie, it’s been a rocky road too. Going from 3 OFCs down to none it’s a curve that we weren’t expecting but are handling it at our pace with our Co-Founder, and have goals and ideas that we’re going to use going forward to try and repeat with what we did when we split originally, having an officer core that’s all on the same page makes a big difference in the success going forward.

Challenges that might lie ahead of you in your new role?
Challenges that lie ahead to me are rebuilding from Ground 0, but I have the right guy (Recover) as my second hand. I believe in him with all my confidence that when me and him are at the helm we’ll be able to build Catalyst back to glory for the 2nd time.

What are your goals for the squad going forward?
Our short term goal is to be able to build a full officer staff to relieve the pressure off any individuals, so 4 SOs, 4 OFCs, 4 CDTs so we can always have the next man up mentally, I like to involve as many people as needed that want to learn and move up the ranks in anything that would further their education in the community. For our long term goal, I would be able to hit all the requirements to split again while fielding a full officer core that is able to move up the ranks and handle the next task with ease!

Discuss how the road to splitting was for you.
Since returning to KSI in March the road to splitting Catalyst was a long road we lost a lot of great officers to unforeseen circumstances but everyone in Catalyst put their work in to ensure we made Catalyst have a great split. Everyone worked together and supported each other which made our split a great one as we have so many future leaders within our officer core and I know all of them will achieve great things and smash more goals.


How have things been since the split?
Since the split, I've been working hard on building Xenon, but overall things have been great. It's a new challenge and a new experience and I'm ready to see what the future brings me.

Challenges that might lie ahead of you in your new role?
The challenges I will face going forward would probably be choosing the correct officers for the officer core and ensuring that Xenon will have the highest quality of members when it comes to the time for it to split, which is a challenge later down the road of being a Squad Leader.

What are your goals for the squad going forward?
My goals for Xenon going forward are to slowly progress and grow by having new quality members being recruited and ensuring we keep our activity up.  I will be a role model for all future leaders within my squad by being a mentor for them and being that leader they can look up to.
