Immortals split recently into Helheim! Through this split, we saw another Co-Founder promotion with KSI Vexos, former Squad Leader of Immortals! We also got two new Squad Leaders: KSI Dpwnall, Immortals Squad Leader, and KSI Nixx, Squad Leader of Helheim. We got with them and asked some questions about the road to split, life after split, and any challenges they thought they might face in the weeks ahead.

Discuss what the road to splitting was like for you.
The road to splitting went very quickly, probably too quickly for my liking but we are making due. Immortals was a squad for just over a month when we split it into Helheim. During that time we faced a couple mishaps where we lost valuable people but others stepped up to the plate to cover the slack where we were lacking. Overall the road to splitting was fun and enjoyable and I'm looking forward to seeing which of the 2 Squads splits next!
How have things been for you since the split?
It's been a steep learning curve going from being in a squad to overseeing. The hardest part for me so far has been staying hands off and trusting my team to lead the squads. They do come to me for advice a lot and I'm very appreciative of it. They will flourish nicely with time!
Challenges that might lie ahead of you in your new role? God...trying to learn what I can and can't do as a Co-Founder, and where and when I should put information for my fellow div staff so far. I’ve just been a jumble and messing things up but I'm getting there! New Blue and Heathen have been a huge help.
What are you expecting to see out of the 2 squads? I'm expecting both squads to flourish and prosper under the current leaders. I trust both of them to do their very best. And the squads will surprise us with time.

Discuss what the road to splitting was like for you. The split came very suddenly, none of us were expecting to split just over 30 days after becoming a squad. But Vexos made sure that we were prepared and gave us as much knowledge as possible that has proven to be very valuable.
How have things been for you since the split?
Since the split, there's been a lull in activity but it's back on the rise. We are focusing on finding quality recruits that have good chemistry with other members and have the desire to be active in the community.
Challenges that might lie ahead of you in your new role?
The biggest challenge in front of the squad currently is diversifying our game pool. The squad is very Destiny 2 heavy and I'd like to get a little more variety so people don't burn out on playing the same game every single day.
What are your goals for the squad going forward?
Some goals that I have set for the squad include having an activity rate and a retention rate above 90%. If it's higher than that great but I don't want to be below that for either category.

Discuss what the road to splitting was like for you. Terrifying! Lol, I remember messaging Vex because I was nervous about becoming a Squad Leader, and was looking back at when I first joined, and how I went from becoming a member to now a Squad Leader in less than a month so I must be doing something right! Haha.
How have things been for you since the split? Still terrifying. It’s been a learning curve on figuring things out but I’ve been so thankful to have Cloi my SO, being right beside me to be my advisor in making decisions.
Challenges that might lie ahead of you in your new role? The biggest thing is my work schedule, I’m not allowed to have my phone during work hours so I only have my lunch break to handle any issues that may arise, but again, I luckily have Cloi to step in if needed.
What are your goals for the squad going forward? I would love to have a huge diversity of players in all time zones that play different games. Hence why we have 5 adopted games in our squad. Our games are obviously Destiny, but we also have CoD, Helldivers, First Descendant when it comes out in July, and Diablo 4. We want to welcome other games that may not be an officially adopted game, but I’m a huge believer in being as open and welcoming as possible to everyone.
