With the recent announcement that Cyclops will be dropping on Marvel Rivals soon, this seemed like a perfect opportunity to get to know the character you may be maining one day. So sit back and enjoy a quick rundown on who Cyclops is!
Origins According to the Comic!
So who is Cyclops? Well first his real name is Scott Summers. He’s also not only a founding member of The X-Men, but he is the FIRST member recruited by Charles Xavier, the founder of the team. He was 16 years old. He is normally acknowledged as the primary team leader of The X-Men. Most of the time being aided by his wife Jean Grey/Pheonix.
His Mutant Abilities!
Cyclops has the unique ability to fire kinetic blasts from his eyes. That means he isn’t shooting lasers from his eyes, but in fact hard light. His eyes are portals to a dimension full of kinetic energy. The comics still haven’t named this dimension, but some fans refer to it as “The Punch Dimension."
Why the visor?
Everyone can identify Cyclops on the X-Men team by his unique visor. While the frame varies depending on the suit he wears, the visor itself is made of synthetic red ruby quartz. Due to the fact his eyes are portals, his body metabolizes ambient energy which fuels his mind’s psionic field which he uses to cover his body to protect his body from the kinetic energy from his eyes. The red ruby quartz allows him to focus and have more control of his portals. Without this visor or sometimes sunglasses of the same red ruby quartz, he wouldn’t have control to his blasts which would lead to major destruction.
Marvel Rivals!
Cyclops has been announced as stated before to be coming to Marvel Rivals this summer. The exact date being June 12. His official class has yet to be announced, but fans are definitely excited to see the hero in all his epic blasting glory! Are you excited for Cyclops to finally land on Marvel Rivals?
