When gamers here movies being made from video games, some get excited, but most cringe. Why? Because most games that have been turned into movies, have quite frankly, been bad. The movies have been known to go too far away from the games storyline, not live up to what the game was supposed to be, in other words, the movies have been completely disappointing. Prepare to be surprised, is all I have to say about the newest video game movie, Doom. Doom stays true to the game, delivering a bloody, gut splattering, movie, that loyal Doom fans can truly enjoy. The movie contains all of the same weapons and monsters that you would expect it to. What’s an action packed movie without a great leading man? That man for this movie is ,WWE’s, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who plays the super Marine Sarge. Sarge is sent, with a team of marines, to investigate the disappearance of scientists, on the mars space station. After investigating the disappearances, they discover that the scientists have died, and figure out that they will not be dead for much longer. I will not get into much more detail, for the purposes of NOT ruining the movie, but I will say that there is much more to the movie than that. The movie starts off pretty slow, but after a while it begins to pick up the pace, and maintains it throughout the rest of the movie, going at about the pace of the game. The acting in this movie was actually rather good, definitely better than what I was expecting. Like many other people, I walked into this movie expecting a poorly put together movie, that was all about gore, what I got? A gory movie, that had a good storyline, and stayed loyal to the game. For me it was worth the money to go out to see it and recommend that all Doom fans go out and check this movie out ASAP.
