Introduction

KSI Global Gaming Network has used various ranks throughout its history, some of which have evolved or been retired. This page documents all known ranks and their descriptions, categorized by the years they were in use.

Community Leadership

Leaders Council

January 2023

This is a group of gamers that are have ranked out of KSI that stick around after to help new leaders continue to grow and learn. Although this role has no real rank and has no authority in KSI, they provide insight from their leadership to help ensure new leaders continue to learn and KSI continues to grow. The Leaders Council is just as its name states, a Council. They no longer hold any authority or ability to change anything within KSI. By nature, the Council will have suggestions from things they have seen in that past, the Council by nature will try to help current KSI Leaders with a level of constructive criticism and conversations. The Council is here to help KSI grow instead of repeating its past. They are there to ensure we don’t touch a hot stove that once burned us in the past, but if the current sitting leaders still wish to touch the stove, they are more than welcome to.

Executive Director

The person as the ED is the face of the community. His/her job is to mentor the OD, and focus on the external image of the community. They must possess extensive knowledge of how the community works.

Requirements

  • Previously has been OD, when that position has now filled will move up and become ED
  • (Or) Nominated and voted in by the KSI Community

Duties

  • Oversees the Operations Director
  • Meets with the Operations Director regularly to help the OD develop strategies for all of KSI
  • Propose major new changes of KSI to the executive staff to vote on
  • Mentors the Operations Director and guides them to success
  • Give guidance to OD to resolve any major issues within KSI
  • Ensure the OD is doing their duties and moving KSI in a Successful path

Operations Director

The person as the OD runs and oversees the entire community. His/her jobs and duties are to ensure that the entire community operation runs smoothly. Works to ensure success within all parts of the community. Must be available to handle time sensitive issues, and possess extensive knowledge of how the community works.

  • Oversees all of directors within Gaming-Operations and all other Departments
  • Propose major new changes of KSI to the executive staff to vote on

This position is given to Directors who have proven they have the experience needed to run all of KSI’s Divisions and they have been a member for at least a year and have successfully fulfilled the Director position for at least 3 months time.

Description: This position is given to Directors who have proven they have the experience needed to run all of KSI's Divisions and they have been a member for at least a year.
Requirements: Successful performance and achievement as a Director for at least a month’s time. They should be appointed for promotion by a Senior Leader or Board Member.
Duties: They carry out and implement solutions to any problem that comes their way from the Directors. They are responsible for making sure the community is playing in a professional manner and are upholding the Code of Conduct, and that all Directors and Leaders are doing their job correctly. These Senior Leaders are responsible for the management of the KSI vocation on Xbox Live, and they have the power to open, close, change, and merge any division if needed. They are highly respected leaders and have full power over all of KSI on Xbox Live. They can promote or demote any rank below them. Reports to: Board Members.
Comments: They are highly respected and experienced members in KSI that know what to do, and make sure it happens. Senior Directors are the head of the community. They make sure that everyone is doing their jobs correctly. Symbol on Halo 3: Hawk toggled any background or colors.

An Accomplished Director in KSI that has displayed outstanding leadership skills.

Rank Description: With oversight from the Operations Director and Executive Director, the Senior Director team's main duty is to manage the daily operations of the Clan Ops side of the KSI Global Gaming Network. The Senior Directors are the first line of senior leaders charged with managing the overall development of the community in all aspects of Clan Operations.

Rank Responsibilities

Managing the Directors, and ensuring that their divisions are being represented properly and are maximizing their potential. Choosing which Directors represent which Division. Ensuring KSI policy is being enforced and encouraged at all levels (CoC, SOP's, Structures, etc). Attending Division Leader and Director meetings. Opening, closing and merging Divisions. Handling issues brought to them by the Division Leaders or Directors. After deliberation and review promoting Directors. Training Division Leaders and Directors on community management. Reports Directly To: Operations Director

Director(DIR)

This position is given to those Division Leaders who may become eligible for a promotion after 3 month as Division Leader, as well as at least 32 weeks of training and experience in KSI. They must also have a productive leadership history within a division.

August 2009 - December 2010

Description: This position is given to those Division Leaders who may become eligible for a promotion after 30 weeks of training and experience in KSI.
Requirements: Successful fulfillment of the Leader position for at least a month’s time, a division maintained at at least 800 members. Appointed for promotion by a Senior Director, or a Board Member.
Duties: They are responsible for the management of 2 - 4 Divisions that they have built or taken on, difficult decision making in regards to the benefit of the community, hosting division meetings, keeping Division Leaders informed and organized and upholding the Code of Conduct. They are responsible for promoting or demoting Division Leaders as well as any other lower rank in their divisions. They also have the duty of reporting problems found in their divisions to the KSI Data Base in the proper format and submitting it to the KSI Data Base Manager. They are to stay active on ksiglobal.com, the KSI Forums, and should contribute to their division website while encouraging others to do the same.
Reports to: Senior Directors, or Board Members.

Division Leader(DIV LEAD)

Description: This position is given to those Co-Leaders who may become eligible for a promotion after 23 weeks of training and experience in KSI.
Requirements: Successful fulfillment of the Co-Leader rank for at least a month’s time, a division maintained at at least 500 members with unremitting growth. Appointed for promotion by a Director and approved by a Senior Director or Board Member. Duties: The Division Leaders must be able to exercise patience as they will be called upon to make many tough decisions that will affect the members in their division. They are the supreme rank of a Division, therefore they are role models to all the members in their division by upholding the Code of Conduct and showing a professional and opened attitude at all times to all the ranks in their divisions. They should stay active on ksiglobal.com, the KSI Forums and should contribute to their division website while encouraging others to do the same. They suggest members to get promoted to Co- Leaders.
Reports to: Director, Senior Director and or Board Member.
Comments: The title comes with the responsibilities of running the entire division with good guidance and judgment. Rank Description: Highest divisional rank. A Division Leader is charged with the overall structure, development and growth of their division. They must be a role model and authority to the leaders of under them in their division. A Division Leader is the representative of their division to the rest of the community and must act with professionalism and maturity. Division Leaders are in a position to ensure that the proper and positive culture is being developed in their division.

Co-Division Leader(CO-DIV LEAD)

Description: This position is given to those Founders who may become eligible for a promotion after 20 weeks of training and experience in KSI.
Requirements: Successful fulfillment of the Founder position for at least a month’s time, and a division maintained at at least 350 members. Appointed for promotion by a Division Leader and approved by a Director or Senior Director.
Duties: Work with the Co-Founders and Founders to run and maintain a good Division, staying active on ksiglobal.com, the KSI Forums, and should contribute to their division website while encouraging others to do the same. They solve major problems brought to them by the Founder. They act as a Division Leader when one is not present and represent their division at leaders meetings when the Leader is unavailable. They are responsible for suggesting the promotion or demotion of Founders with the approval of the Division Leader and Director.
Reports to: Division Leader and Director or Senior Director.
Comments: They run the division and work to ensure an enjoyable gaming experience for all.

Description: This position is given to those Co-Founders who may become eligible for a promotion after 17 weeks of training and experience in KSI. This is also the position that is automatically earned when a 200 member base is achieved in ones division.
Requirements: Successful fulfillment of the Co-Founder Rank for at least a month’s time and a 200 members base. Appointed for promotion by a Co-Leader and approved by a Division Leader and Director.
Duties: Overseeing all the squads of the division, make sure all the positions below them are doing their jobs correctly, solving any problem the Co-Founder might bring to them, staying active on ksiglobal.com, the KSI Forums and should contribute to their division website. They are responsible for giving permission to a General or Co-Founder to start a new squad.
Reports to: Co-Leader, Division Leader and or director.
Comments: Founders are role models for the entire Divisions, so they must be capable of solving problems with patience and good judgment.

Description: This position is given to those Generals who may become eligible for a promotion after 14 weeks of training and experience in KSI. This is also the highest position possible to start a NEW division.
Requirements: Successful fulfillment of the General position for at least a month’s time and or permission to start a new division. Must prove to have performed exceptional work and growth in their squads.
Duties: Running 2 to 4 Squads at a time, coordinating all positions below them and ensures everyone is doing their job correctly. They have to be fully trained in the Code of Conduct, recruiting techniques, background checks, squad list management and basic problem solving abilities. Their responsibilities including the following: coordinating the Generals of the 2-4 squads to get the best performance from them and their members, to hold weekly meetings with their Generals in order to discuss Squad issues and improvements, staying active on ksiglobal.com and the KSI Forums and reporting news or any other things related to their squads.

Description: This position is given to those Majors who may become eligible for a promotion after 12 weeks of training and experience in KSI.
Requirements: Successful fulfillment of the Major Rank, 12 weeks in KSI, and exceptional work in their squad. Must have a months experience as Major.
Rank Age Limitation; 16 years of age and up can retain this rank.

Duties;
They are to take insight and training from the Co-founders to help supervise their squads. Also they lead up all organization of all activities and approvals of new activities. Example of Supervision of Management of Activities;

Teams
1- Headhunter teams - Providing Supervision with Major to ensure Guidance to the Captain assigned to manage the organization of Team and to insure the messaging of times and dates of matches to members of Team. Making sure that Captain or Lieutenant have set these times and dates on the forums. Also checking the stats on how well Team is doing. Also making sure that they are practicing good sportsmanship.
2-Battle squad teams - Providing Supervision with Major to ensure Guidance to the Captain assigned to manage the organization of Team and to ensure the messaging of times and dates of matches to members of Team. Making sure that the Captain or Lieutenant have set these times and dates on the forums. Also reviewing all new candidates for Headhunters Team. Also making sure that they are practicing good sportsmanship.
3-Team Practices - Providing Supervision with Major to ensure guidance to all Captains and Lieutenants that runs practice Teams and to insure of messaging of all practice times & dates to Team members. Making sure that the Captains or Lieutenants have set these times and dates on the forums. Also making sure that they are practicing good sportsmanship.
4-Map teams - Providing Supervision with Major to ensure Guidance to the Captain assigned to manage organization of Team and to insure the setting of times and dates of Map making days. 5-Forge teams - Providing Supervision with Major to ensure Guidance to the Captain assigned to manage organization of Team and to insure the setting of times and dates of Training. Making sure that the Captains or Lieutenants have set these times and dates on the forums. Also reviewing of all new candidates for Map Teams.

Other Squad Activities
6- Custom games - Supervising the officers to keep activities going and gaming with all ranks of squad to build relations. When able sit in on games and see how well the officers are working with the members. Also making sure that good sportsmanship is practiced.
7-Recruiting Parties - Supervising of officers to encourage the growth of the squad at all times. Working with recruiting parties to review if officer core is doing their job in teaching recruiting techniques to all lower ranks. Also making sure that they are practicing good sportsmanship.
8-Squad Practices - Supervision of officers to encourage the activities of the squad by making sure practice are being done at set times and dates. Also checking to make sure these activities times and dates are posted on the forums by Lieutenants or Sergeants. Also sitting in on practices to see how well the Lieutenants or Sergeants are with the members of the squad. Checking to see if their doing good with their training of being an officer. Also making sure that they are practicing good sportsmanship.

Encourages growth of the squad at all times but careful of not spamming the members too much. Also training his/her Major in order to supervise the squad if not present. Always assisting with his/her officers on background checks, uniform checks, how to work squad tag and training his officer court to handle all teams that is been built. He/she and Major hold a Squad meeting once a week after the Division meeting. He/she also does all promotions and Demotions from 1 Captain down as long as it is in agreement with their Co-Founder on any officer promotion or demotion.(NO Public Disciplinary Action) This is to ensure that there is No quick judgment calls and the best decision will be made. These promotions or demotions need to be reported up the ranks for future references if gamer wants to comes back and Make sure changes to the squad tags bio of leadership gets updated. They also organize uniform checks with the Major and the Captains, in which is keeping the squad tag up to date an you will know what members are not wanting to stay in uniform or has quit. Inactiveness, if for some reason a gamer needs time off and he informs you, work with this gamer as long as it is a reasonable time frame. But if a gamer is inactive for 30 or more days he or she needs to be removed and a message sent to this gamer tag letting him or her know when their able to get back online you can reinstate them, But you and your co-founder needs to talk with this gamer and explain that some ranks cannot be held and depending on if gamer has an KSI tag is where he or she will start at in the ranks. Squad to squad transfers are to be handle by Co-Founders and Founder, Division Leader does not have to be involved but if it’s with an Major or General the Division leader must be present. Now with any member that want a Divisional transfer will have to get the approval of you and the Division leader before going to the Director, to whom is the only one that can do the Divisional transfer. Now remember that if any officer or member below Major you have the right to ask for a trained replacement if you don't have one and 2 recruits. If its an Major and up you have the right to ask for an train replacement if you don't have one and 10 recruits.

Supervising the SGT's, CPL's and PVT's in recruiting. Tasked with hosting game lobbies and parties on Xbox or PSN. Enforcing the proper uniform to those under them. Assisting the Officers of Squad in hosting events and game nights. Assisting the Officer in tasks given from the General or Major. Getting the junior members signed up on the forums and Discord and teaching them how to operate the sites. Enforcing squad activity both on console and the KSI websites. The most important responsibility of SSGT's/MSGT's is they are overall responsible for making sure all new recruits are properly integrated into the squad. Sergeant(SGT)

Description: This position is given to those Privates or Corporals who have acquired a KSI tag.
Requirements: Acquiring a KSI Gamer tag, being in KSI for at least 2 weeks, and having permission from a Captain to get it.
Duties: Uphold the Code of Conduct; stay active as a gamer and be registered on ksiglobal.com and the KSI Forums. They should also know the rank Structure up through Director.
Reports to: Lieutenants, and any other higher rank.
Comments: The 2 weeks wait to get the KSI gamer tag is to ensure the member wants to be part of the community; they have to understand that they will represent KSI from that moment on.

Duties: Participating in Squad Activities, being active on the KSI Forums and signing up to their division website, fully understanding the Code of Conduct and the Rank Structure up through Co-Founder, and being a role model to new recruits.

Duties: They are to take guidance and training from Sergeants of the squad. So if you have any questions about any thing just contact a sergeant off the squad tag and if you don't know the reference its the tag that the recruiter ask you to add to your friends list, Other than the recruiter's tag. Just look on its friends list and look in each motto until you find Sergeant or Sgt.and they will have KSI at the beginning of their name. By the way this is a list of all members in the squad you have joined. Staying in uniform, being respectful to other members, gaming with good sportsmanship. Rank Description: This rank is given to Privates that have shown they can be active in the squad, recruit and have signed up on the KSI websites.

Rank Responsibilities:

Properly recruiting members into the community. Attending squad meetings and game nights, and encourages other members to attend. Active within the squad, participating regularly in game lobbies and parties. Training new members in the Code of Conduct and KSi Values. Helping the CPL's and SGT's make sure new recruits are being integrated into the squad. Reports Directly To: SGT's, SSGT's/MSGT's.



Private(PVT)

August 2009 - December 2010

Description: This is the first position acquired with your enrollment in the community.
Requirements: Joining a legit KSI squad.
Duties: Getting and remaining in uniform, according to the indications of the recruiter, agreeing to respect the Code of Conduct and The Xbox Live Disclaimer, starting to learn the Rank Structure up through General rank, sign up at ksiglobal.com and the KSI Forums, and meet other KSI members by attending squad activities.
Rep orts to: Sergeants, or any other higher rank.
Comments: Privates are encouraged but not required to change their gamer tag within 60 days. They must have permission of a Captain to get it, and staying in KSI for at least 2 weeks. Any problems they might have should report to the Lieutenants.

Unknown Year

Given to new members of KSI.  Rank Description: The rank all new members of the community start out as until they determine what they wish their role to be in KSI. PVT's make up the vast majority of community, thus are integral to the sustained success of the community. Though it is encouraged to climb the ranks(as it offers the best KSI experience), there is nothing wrong for a PVT to remain at this rank and just participate in the organized gaming and content KSIprovides to it's members.

Rank Responsibilities

Participate in game lobbies held within the squad. Engage with other members of the squad through gaming. Attend game nights and squad activities. Properly recruiting members into the squad. Reports Directly To: Corporals and Sergeants



Recruit(RCT)

August 2009 - December 2010

Description: This is the first position of our structure, designed for those recently recruited into any of our squads.
Requirements: Having successfully been completed the recruit rank and has been in KSI as a recruit for 48 hours(2 days).
Duties: Getting and remaining in uniform, according to the indications of the recruiter, agreeing to respect the Code of Conduct and The Xbox Live Disclaimer, starting to learn the Rank Structure up through General rank, sign up at ksiglobal.com and the KSI Forums, and meet other KSI members by attending squad activities.

Rank Description: Reserved for the newest members of the community. Recruits are only promoted to Privates after they have received a full introduction to the community and have shown interest in being active within in the squad.

Rank Responsibilties:

Having a proper uniform on PSN or XBL. Learning the KSI Code of Conduct. Getting added to their Squads "Club" or "Squad Tag". Getting registered on the KSI Forums and Discord. Reports Directly To: CPL's and SGT's.


Department Operations

Director of Web Operations

January 2023

The Director of Web Operations handles the day to day operations of Web Operations under the supervision of the Webmaster. They appoint and remove Department Managers, team and project leaders, and the other various leadership positions in Web Operations. Their duty is to ensure all Departments of Web Operations run efficiently. They handle questions, concerns and issues brought to them by the Department Managers and Team Leaders. The DoWO also is an authority in all aspects of Web Operations: Discord, and any KSI related websites.

Director of Digital Services

January 2023

The Director of Digital Services is responsible for the public-facing web teams such as the Social Media Department, KSI Public Relations, Content Creators & GFX teams. They are charged with the duty and authority over these teams and are responsible for crafting & maintaining the image of KSI on these platforms. They advertise the purpose and different parts of KSI on social media to any people wishing to join. They handle any public relation issues or questions brought to them by current or prospective members. The DoDS works hand and hand with the KSI Content Creators & the Graphics Team to help promote and advertise any content that the teams produce (videos, events, news articles, etc.). The DoDS uses their various tools and platforms to help recruit new members into the community. The DoDS reports directly to the Operations Director.

Director of Community Resources

January 2023

The Director of Community Resources is responsible for overseeing the departments that are most integrated within the community: Events, Achievement Awards Program (AAP), Courts, and IGY6. They appoint and remove Department Managers, team and project leaders, and the other various leadership positions in their department. The responsibilities also include: Overseeing the organization of community events, tournaments, regularly scheduled activities, and the Issuing of rewards for completed events, The DoCR reports directly to the Operations Director.

Wiki Head Admin

January 2023

The Head Admin is the person solely in charge of the Wiki and Wiki Team and fall under the authority of the DoWO and Webmaster, This team is charged with preserving and recording KSI’s history by putting it into condensed and readable format. These team members should have well developed writing and research skills. The Wiki Head Admin reports directly to the Webmaster.

Server Staff Manager

Server Staff Manager ensures the Moderators run professionally and uphold the standards within the discord server. Their duties may include: Training and developing the Server Staff Supervisors, Creating and enforcing the Departments schedule; meetings, upcoming events coverage, Putting out important information to the Server Staff, Ensuring that Server Staff Supervisors are meeting with his/her assigned Moderators, Ensuring to be doing evaluations on Trainee Moderators, Assists with the Director of Web Ops in ideas and provides ways to grow the server, ect. The SSM reports directly to the Director of Web Ops.

Server Staff Supervisor

Server Staff Supervisors ensures the Moderators run professionally and uphold the standards within the discord server. Their duties may include: Training and developing the Server Staff, Ensuring a line of communication between the Server Staff Manager when need of assistance, questions and/or new ideas, Inform Trainee Moderators on how the Department operates on a day to day basis (Staff Meetings, admin-requests, Dept. SOPs, Dept. Policy, and etc.), Be sure to correct Trainee Moderators and help when performing their duties while performing their jobs, Putting out important information to the Server Staff, Ensuring that Server Staff are meeting with his/her assigned Moderators, Ensuring to be doing evaluations on Trainee Moderators, Assists with the Director of Web Ops in ideas and provides ways to grow the server, ect. The SSS reports directly to the Director of Web Ops.

Graphics Supervisor

The Graphics Supervisor is responsible for managing the Graphics Team. The GS is also responsible for overseeing graphics requests, reviewing and approving new team applications, and creating & sustaining a constructive environment for positive feedback & criticism for artists to learn from. The responsibilities of the GS further include ensuring that Graphics Requests are completed in a timely manner, that members are adhering to the request guidelines when posting new requests, and that Graphics Artists are properly fulfilling requests within the standards of the Graphics Team. The GS reports directly to the Director of Digital Services.

Content Creators Lead

January 2023

The Content Creators Lead is in charge of and has full authority over the KSI Content Creators Team. They ensure that their team members are producing consistent and quality content for the members of KSI and the community as a whole. They are also the creative director of these areas, insuring that cutting edge, original and appealing content ideas are being realized and implemented. The CCL has complete autonomy when selecting prospective members for the CC teams. They ensure the productivity of their teams and projects, making sure that the work the department does represents the community in the best possible light. The CCL reports directly to the Director of Digital Services.

Social Media Supervisor

As the name would suggest, the Social Media department is tasked with maintaining all of KSI’s social media handles and increasing presence. If you would like to be on the Social Media team you must understand how social media works, be an excellent writer, and have high energy. The SMS reports directly to the Director of Digital Services.

Events Team Supervisor

The Events department is responsible for regulating and organizing all community events. Events team members are excellent organizers, detail oriented, and patient. They may also set up rewards or create other incentives for members to join community events.

Awards and Achievements Program Lead

The Achievements and Awards Program (AAP) Lead tasked with awarding members of the community, creating new awards, and ensuring all award lists are accurate and updated. An AAP team member is detail-oriented, dedicated, and excels at rapid decision making.

Chief Justice

January 2023

The Chief Justice of KSI is responsible for providing a checks and balance to the leadership structure of KSI. This member is to remain unbiased in all situations and correct any unjust actions taken by KSI leaders. This member has the authority to undo any punishment handed out unfairly, but does not have the authority to punish any member in KSI. The holder of this position is held to a higher standard than any member in KSI. The ultimate goal of this member is to provide a fair environment for members all throughout KSI.

IGY6 Lead

January 2023

The IGY6 Lead is responsible for ensuring all members conduct themselves properly and engage positively with any and all Veterans/First Responders seeking assistance or company. IGY6 is the peer support team for Veterans/First Responders. This channel opens automatically with the selection of the Veteran or First Responder roles in the discord, and is a specialized peer support area exclusive to Veterans and First Responders. The team itself are the ones who are on call to help Veterans and First Responders out when they're in need. The IGY6 Lead has complete autonomy when selecting prospective members for IGY6 so long as the prospective member is a past or present First Responder or Veteran/

Education Supervisor

The Education Supervisor is one of the most vital positions in KSI. They're charged with creating a curriculum that best suits KSI and implementing at all levels of the community(Squad Officers/Division Officers). They educate on a wide variety of things, ranging from leadership training to how to properly build a successful squad. The Education Supervisor oversees all workshops in the community in order to facilitate a knowledge first culture in the community. They can also create or close down any education workshop or training session. They are tasked with seeing which areas in KSI need the most attention and diagnosing what the educational solution is needed to improve any given situation. The Education Supervisor, with the approval of the Senior Director or Operations Director, can edit, change or remove any education based policy.
